50+ voices that sound like people.
Choose from more than 50 natural AI voices across many languages, and preview any of them right in the app before you settle on the one you could listen to all day.
Walkie reads in a steady, natural voice while the overlay keeps pace on screen. Finished words fall back, the current one carries the highlight, and the next lines wait just below in the fade. Press play on a report, an article, or that long email you kept skipping, and follow with your ears instead.
Follow along, word by word.
Read words dim, the current word lights up — your eyes always know where the voice is.
Download →Always in control.
While Walkie reads, you get a live timer, a waveform, and one-tap stop — you always know what's playing and can end it instantly.

Questions, answered.
What is Read Aloud?
Read Aloud turns any text into speech, spoken in natural AI voices. Paste it, highlight it, or right-click it — Walkie plays it back and highlights each word as it goes.
How do I start a read-aloud?
Three ways: drop a file or paste text onto the Walkie window, highlight text in any app and press your global shortcut, or select text on macOS and choose “Read Aloud with Walkie” from the right-click Services menu.
Which files can Walkie read?
PDF, TXT, and Markdown files — drop them straight onto the Walkie window. Anything else, just paste the text.
Which voices and languages are available?
More than 50 natural AI voices across 20+ languages, and you can preview every one inside the app before choosing.
Does Read Aloud use my Fast usage?
Yes. Cloud voices draw from the same Fast usage pool as Fast Mode dictation — one meter for everything.
Is it included with Pro?
Yes. Read Aloud is part of Walkie Pro, on the same subscription.
Does it work offline?
No. Read Aloud uses cloud voices, so it needs an internet connection. Dictation in Local Mode stays fully on-device and offline.
What happens to my text?
Text is sent to Walkie's speech service only when you press play, to generate the audio. Nothing is read — or sent — until you ask.
